A serial fraudster has admitted slashing more than £5, 000 worth of Victoria's Keys underwear with scissors in order to earn thousands of pounds in dodgy refunds.
Patricia Phillips, 52, was caught during the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Vierter monat des jahres at the end of a three month spree that she scammed four different leaves of the famous lingerie chain.
Phillips, of Blackmore Road, Stondon Massey in Brentwood, Essex, pinched event items from the Greenhithe outlet besides stores in Sheffield, New Have fun Street and Westfield Shopping Brain balance in Stratford.
She would cut regarding scissors before searching out exact items in the shop and damaging the parties as well.
Staff were then not able to offer her a straight swap as you are she fraudulently presented the event items for a refund.
Prosecutor Lynda Huppatz told Dartford Magistrates' Judge yesterday that Phillips viewed a woman actions as a "cry for help".
Mrs Huppatz said: "She gotten into the stores to buy her daughter element then sort of went blank since did what she did.
"She is disgusted with herself since her actions and told law enforcement officials she needs to be punished for what is definitely an done.
"She told officers it again wasn't about the money but was some type cry for help since a woman daughter passed away, her marriage split up and with the stress of her vocation, charity work and worrying about a woman other daughter.
"Watching the REMOTE CCTV of the incidents made her imagine sick. "
Phillips damaged £5, 025. 50 worth of stock shares in order to claim £1, 666 wearing refunds following her first offence at Victoria's Secret in Modern Bond Street on February zwei Wochen.
On that day she destroyed five pairs of designer bath pants and two angel walkway gowns worth £698. 50.
From day alone on March 25 she destroyed £1, 192 that is worth of underwear at New Have fun Street, claiming £298 of it wearing refunds.
Phillips was caught to April 16 at Bluewater soon slashing two gowns worth £215 each.
The assistant manager became doubtful when Phillips presented one of them age till claiming an item had beforehand been put aside for her to exchange it again for but none could be located.
After police were notified Phillips collapsed with chest pains since an ambulance had to be called.
Victoria's Secret's UK loss prevention policeman managed to track down five other really crimes – two at Modern Bond Street, one at Sheffield and one at Westfield.
Phillips sobbed as she pleaded guilty in order to really four counts of criminal difficulties for property and four of fraud by - false representation at the different web shops.
Magistrate Robert Chapman adjourned sentencing until later this month pending more pre-sentence report.
